What does STEM mean to you?

STEM to me means preparing for the fact that science and math are used every day in real life situations. Using these tools, as well as writing and communication skills, allows engineers and others, such as the medical community, to solve problems that impact us all. A focus on STEM will prepare our students for the technological society we live in.

What excites you most about the Academy?

The completely different approach to our school and how the students will learn is very exciting. Also what the students will accomplish both in school and after they move on has no limits.

What do you like to do in your free time?

Riding horses, camping, reading, traveling and sailing.

What was your favorite moment in high school?

Getting my acceptance letter at the beginning of my senior year to attend the University of Wisconsin and realizing that my hard work for the previous three years had paid off. I now would have the opportunity to be an engineer, make cool stuff and help people by solving their problems.
