What does STEM mean to you?

STEM is an integrated approach to teaching with a focus on demonstrating the connections between learning and workplace skills.  Learning is structured in a problem based learning environment and is personalized based on student interest.

What excites you most about the Academy?

I love that we are a 1 to 1 computer environment – when students have full time access to technology; customization and personalized learning can happen!

What do you like to do in your free time?

I love playing with new technologies, including video and animation as well web 2.0 technologies. I am professional ski instructor at Boston Mills Brandywine Ski resort and love to ski. In the off season, I like to ride my bike, roller blade and kayak. When I am not playing outdoors, I have my nose stuck in a book, typically fiction!

What was your favorite moment in high school?

My older sister and I were involved in Teen Institute. My sister was President of the club and she passed the job to me upon graduation. The speech my sister gave while handing over the job is favorite moment in my life.  I also LOVED all my time spent in theater!
